**Humanitarian Report on the Deteriorating Humanitarian Conditions in Aweil Refugee Camp – Khazan Jadeed Unit, East Darfur State**

The Aweil refugee camp in the Khazan Jadeed unit of East Darfur State is witnessing a rapid deterioration in humanitarian conditions, amid the continued absence of humanitarian aid and growing basic needs for the population, especially with the onset of the autumn season and its accompanying heavy rains, health, and environmental challenges.
Approximately 75 refugee families, totaling around 700 individuals, face extremely difficult conditions due to a severe shortage of shelter materials. Many families lack plastic sheeting, tents, blankets, ropes, and other essential supplies that provide the bare minimum of protection from rain and wind. This has exposed women, children, and the elderly to increased risks, amid fears of the spread of diseases associated with the rainy season.
The camp also suffers from a severe food shortage due to the interruption of humanitarian aid during the recent period. This has negatively impacted the food security of families, with rising indicators of malnutrition, particularly among children, pregnant women, and lactating mothers, in light of the continuous rise in the prices of basic commodities and the weak purchasing power of the population. These challenges align with reports indicating the exacerbation of humanitarian needs in Darfur due to the conflict and declining humanitarian access during the rainy season.
**Urgent Humanitarian Needs:**
* Provision of emergency shelter materials (tents, plastic sheeting, blankets, mats, ropes).
* Delivery of urgent and adequate food assistance to the affected families.
* Support for health services and essential medicines to combat seasonal diseases.
* Provision of safe drinking water and improvement of environmental sanitation services.
* Protection of the most vulnerable groups, primarily children, women, and the elderly.
**Humanitarian Appeal:**
The residents of Aweil camp appeal to all humanitarian organizations, UN agencies, and donors for urgent intervention to provide basic needs and save the lives of refugees, especially with the continuation of the autumn season and increasing humanitarian risks, to ensure the preservation of the dignity of those affected and the alleviation of their suffering.
